What follows is an empty "SPOILER" BB code (you cannot see it here on XenForo 2.3.2):

One of our users was confused when he got the syntax wrong (he accidentally entered the spoiler contents not in-between the tags but in the argument).

Another aspect of this issue that I thought about is that it can be (ab-)used to hide text in messages that will be invisible to users and moderators but will be indexed by XenForo's search...

Paypal NEW + User Upgrades

Hi guys, I am trying to enable user upgrades in my Xenforo 2.3.2 version. I tried this long ago and could not activate it, now I notice there is new PAYPAL connector, so I gave it second try - but still not working. My Paypal account is Bussiness and I can receive payments when I send invoice to my customers. Posting some pictures of my setup, can you give me clue what I am missing ?

Google breaking email images?

I've uploaded some PNG files to be the email logo and it seems that Google (For business domains, at the very least) and possibly gmail is doing something weird with the image. I upload a PNG and it appears the XF2.3 converts it to a webp to be in the email. Google appears to be converting that to a JPG but making the image wonky.

Include IP addresses in the Export User function to comply with GDPR

It states clearly here:

What is personal information: a guide ​

That IP addresses are considered personal information.
They therefore should be included in the user export function if this is to be used for personal information requests which we all, as forum admin, are legally obligated to supply upon request.
Please implement this.

I just had installed Xenforo for the first time and going through the Node permissions. I keep getting this message popping up when I try to make changes and click Save when I'm changing Node Permissions on my Nodes..

Here's the path
  • Groups & permissions > Node permissions > example random forum

How can I save my changes?

Change BB Code rendering for custom entity?

Hey there,

let's say I have $content - which is a custom entity.

I use the bbcode template function bb_code() to render $content.message - but here's the thing: I only want it to be able to render the user mentioner; no images or anything else.

Is there any way to give the BB Code renderer options what to render and what to ignore?

Declaring icons via CSS oddities

I haven't been able to isolate exactly WHY this happens, but I've got a rather unique issue with icons.

Given the following less:

I can add that class to a nav item, and it'll attempt to render the icon, except the value of mask/-webkit-mask ends up being r-life-ring no-repeat center.

All the other appropriate CSS is there, it's just getting weird on the mask URL value.

Autofill the version number when uploading a new file

When releasing a new version of a resource, the author has to provide the new file and a new version number. When the new version is manually entered, there's a possibility the number will be entered incorrectly. I don't know about other types of resources, but add-on files usually have the version number as part of their name; It makes it possible to autofill the "New version number" field based on the freshly uploaded file.

When releasing a new add-on, we add-on authors are asked to upload a file and enter the new version number. I found myself mistyping the latter around ~.5% of the time so I made this suggestion: Autofill the version number when uploading a new file
