When 'select' list is huge

I'm developing an add-on (slightly modified version of Notes from 'Building with XF2' videos), so my members could create fishing notes.
I decided that it's a good idea to add to a form a select field 'Waterbody' for members convinience (so they don't have to type in a river/lake name they fished, but instead to select from a list). The problem is that the list is huge. And they have to scroll and scroll and scroll to find the waterbody. Very inconvenient.

Is there a way to solve this...

A few questions, if I may.

My site right now is ccrb.community.forum it's super basic, but I want to say a big thank you to the community as a whole you've all been very helpful and I'm figuring it out as I go along.

1: Is there any way to make it so that a simple yes or no verification window pops up to age gate the entire forum, before even an unregistered can see anything?

2: Is there any way to copy and paste or essentially mimic the entire forum as I've created it... and am I able to quickly duplicate it for...

Is it possible to put an individual user on "post preview" mode?

This is surprisingly difficult to Google for. I swear, I've come up with nothing on this one. Bizarre.

Is there a way to set a single troublesome user to have all of their new posts or forum content need to be approved by a moderator before it becomes public? I believe the term is "post preview mode" from other forum softwares.

How to link internal_data between Tow Hosts

Hi , i have some questions i'm looking for linking internal_data between two hosts
First Host is the old one and it has a big storage You can nameit H1 .
Second is a VPS with small storage of 100GB You can name it H2 .

What i'm looking for is to display the H1 internal_data or synchronize it with H2 by using some command on H2 Config.php .
I did see some command on xenforo like :
$config['internalDataPath'] = '';
$config['externalDataPath'] = '';

    Resolved report alert not sent if report assigned and unassigned

    When determining users to send a report update alert to in XF\Service\Report\ClosureNotifierService it runs this query:

    $lastOpenDate = $db->fetchOne("
    SELECT comment_date
    FROM xf_report_comment
    WHERE report_id = ?
        AND state_change = 'open'
    ORDER BY comment_date DESC
    LIMIT 1
", $reportId);

    It then finds any comments where comment_date is greater than or equal to the date queried here, and is_report is 1. This should send the alert...
