When is it good to add XFES / Elasticsearch?

Is there a threshold where you would enable XFES / Elasticsearch?

As in, if a forum only has 500 threads, is there any benefit to it? Or would you wait until 10,000~ threads to enable it?

I get the faster and more accurate searches, but there might not be a point in which "similar threads" exist yet.

Should it just be setup from the beginning?

Would it be possible to add a "new messages" indicator to where you left off a thread last time?

My users came from a forum software that is absolutely awful. But, it did do a few things that actually made a little sense to me. Like the attached where when you click on a thread you had previously been reading, there is an indicator after the last reply you'd seen and indidcating all the new ones below it. I know that XF takes you to the last post you were looking at when you click on a thread but even I sometimes lose where I was or what posts are new since I was last there...

I would love to see an addon that tries to display a more modern approach to showing content on our XF powered sites. Many users are very familiar (and prefer) to use feed pages, that show all content (threads, posts, resources, images, custom addon content such as showcase entries, new tournaments etc, and easily customizable for other addon makers that want to include their content type) on one page, which can be filtered if you prefer.

Few questions before purchasing: hosting, importing, etc

We're currently looking at purchasing a Xenforo self hosted license. We're hoping to run Wordpress as our main site and have a discussion area on Xenforo. We're not currently looking to link the two together. We have a few questions though:

1) Does anyone have any good suggestions for hosting this? We're currently checking out both Namecheap and Hetzner. We don't get significant amounts of traffic yet.
2) Is there an area where people offer services like setting up a Hetzner cloud?

Why are some template names all caps?

Why are some templates like "PAGE_CONTAINER" in all caps in upper case while others are not?

I'm getting a 403 when editing any template that has a name that's all caps. I tried editing the DB directly but that had no effect so I'm going to have to dive into why only a very small subset of templates give 403s.

First order of business is figuring out what's different about the caps vs all the other templates.

Old Mysql dump.

I have this old sql dump since 2018 with an old vb forum and Pp integration 2.6gb
I would like to try and import it to a local XF server. How would that best be done?
What xf version should I use?
What Php versions?
And what Importer?

Can I import straight from the .sql or do I need a running db?

XenForo doesn't use the Board URL in settings

I have a reverse proxy setup that is working 95%.

In my source code, I'm finding my upstream/origin/host domain in the code. This domain is not specified anywhere in the XenForo configuration/settings.

I just go to any page on the forum and view source then CTRL+F for the upstream domain and it is there. The board URL is there more often, but it should be the only URL there. Thankfully 337 of the URLs on the homepage are relative and don't reference the domain.

Issue with Images Posted on Photobucket

Xenforo support suggested I raise this issue as a bug report.

Images hosted by Photobucket are no longer showing in posts. They show when the post is being created, but not when you either click preview or save the post.

I have attached screenshots showing a test thread that illustrates the issue.

Images linked by BBCode on other forums (ProBoards) from the same Photobucket account are working fine and the ones on our XenForo forum were working quite recently.
