2.3 Rebuilding index requires too much memory

On my test site there is no problem at all rebuilding index with 2.2 but as soon as I install xf 2.3 / ES 2.3 and try to rebuild index I am getting the error there is not enough memory. Spoke to host (Mattw) who suggested this is a bug because he tells me what I'm trying to do with rebuilding index is asking for over 1GB of memory for php.

Errors on upgrading to 2.3

Hi: I've got a pretty basic site, with the Cloudflare and installation add-ons and that's about it.

When I upgraded, I immediately had a number of errors logs, as shown in the screenshot. I've closed the forum for now. Any idea why I got these errors, and if this can be easily addressed or should I start over, using the database backup?

Why do theme sellers and extension sellers require me to jump through hoops to buy their products?

I have tried a couple of times now to buy themes and extensions from sellers not affiliated with Xenforo, but most are requiring me to prove my bona fides before allowing me to buy. What makes them think I should have to jump through hoops to give them money for a product they are eager to sell?

I don't want to have to hunt down Xenforo tokens or anything like that, I simply want to give them money for their product, why do they make it difficult?

Something that I have been observing on forums recently is how when spam is posted, some members instead of reporting the content will reply to the content.

This often makes it difficult to deal with when it comes to needing to edit or remove the post in question.

Do you prefer your members to report spam content or do you not mind them replying to it?

The add-on allows setting limits on how many threads users can start and how many posts they can make in a predefined time. Upgrade to 2.3 Failed with blank screen

So this morning I tried, mercifully only on my test install, to upgrade from the latest official release of XenForo to the new v2.3 release out this week. But shortly after starting this the browser returned a blank screen on the URL [forum]/install/oc-upgrader.php . Now every page of my forum returns a blank screen, no matter what URL I load (admin or public or direct upgrade pages). I've never had this issue before with XenForo (upgrades are always very easy via the admincp) and am not sure...

xf-rebuild:search --truncate fails with out-of-memory error since XenForo 2.3.0 Final

After upgrading from XenForo 2.3.0 RC5 to XenForo 2.3.0 Final, xf-rebuild:search --truncate got killed for me (twice) because it used too much memory:

kernel: Out of memory: Killed process 459314 (php) total-vm:21573920kB, anon-rss:21323748kB, file-rss:640kB, shmem-rss:0kB, UID:1000 pgtables:42208kB oom_score_adj:200

XenForo 2.3.0 Final contains this change from 2.3.0 RC5 (probably to fix this bug):

users can't register on forum

Hi

Yesterday I upgraded to 2.3 and now users can't register on my forum because they are not receiving the confirmation mail.

The error I get on my forum panel is:

  • Symfony\Component\Mailer\Exception\TransportException: Email to from failed: Unable to connect with STARTTLS: stream_socket_enable_crypto(): Peer certificate CN=`*MYMAILHOSTINGSERVER' did not match expected CN=`localhost'
