Another forum stealing content via RSS?

So it was brought to my attention another forum is stealing my forum's content. I believe this is done via an RSS feed. What can be done about this? The forum is fairly new and has no real content of it's own. I also suspect it's running a nulled/pirated version of Xenforo (I already reported it)

What can be done to get this forum taken down? Or at least have my forum's content removed? and then prevent this from happening again? Thanks.

Can't upload a 100mb resource

I am trying to upload a 107MB pdf document into XFRM but when I reach 100% the progress bar disappears but the file icon does not appear, if I try to submit the resource the system tells me to upload a file or to indicate an external download link.

I have a resource whose document is 93MB but I uploaded it under XFRM 2.2... Did 2.3 bring this bug?

Hello,

It would be interesting to introduce a page or widget that allows a user to see their activity on the forum relative to the current week, month and year.

For example:
  • Show the user how many posts they have published
  • Show the user how many threads they have opened (first post)
  • Show the user how many likes they have received and from where
  • Show the user how many followers he/she has gotten
  • Show the user how many trophies he got

Improve the "followed users" interactions and notifications

Hello,

On Xenforo it is possible to follow users, however this dynamic is not very interactive and does not create real value for users.

Here are my suggestions to improve it:
  • Notify users who follow us when a new discussion or a new comment is posted in a discussion
  • Notify users who follow us when we get a new trophy (to congratulate or challenge us)
  • Notify users who follow us when we have a birthday
  • Notify users who follow us when we have created a discussion that...

I have some suggestions for improving the Xenforo trophy system and generally increasing user interactions and forum activity, i included more improvements in the discussion because it is a 360-degree look at what should be done to the trophy system:
  • Allow categorization of trophies so that the trophy page is more ordinated
  • Show a progress bar for each trophy, so as to show how long until the next goal is reached
  • Show the % of users who have achieved that trophy...

error after importing vb

Hi

after importing vb5 (to XF 2.3.3) all went ok except for some errors in a few pages.

the page in the main has a thread that I can't view, I get "The requested page could not be found." while the thread is there!!

and if I go to the forum where the thread belongs I can view it with no issue

the main URL that gives me an error is The requested page could not be found.

and the other one that works ok is the same minus "post-0"

Removing the board name from our homepage

Our board name is well advertised in our header logo, so there's no need to show it on our homepage.

I looked on this forum and found an old post which said put this in extra.less

display: none;
}

However, on our forum pages, it also removed these icons

Current XenForo 2.3 sets loading="lazy" attribute on all avatars, emojis, and smilies. Here are reasons why this attribute is unnecessary:
  1. These are small images. Loading them wasn't a problem in the late dial-up modem era of the internet.
  2. These images repeat a lot, reducing the point of loading the lazily: why load lazily an image that exists multiple times on a page?
  3. There can be a lot of these images in the first immediate view, for example on the new posts page...

URL of origin server shows in source code, not the board URL

There are 3 places on my homepage in the source code that have the upstream/origin server URL (from reverse proxy setup) and not the board URL.

Any idea why it's pulling that and not the board URL?

Import keeps crashing.

I'm trying to import from vb 3.8 using the CLI and it keeps crashing with the following message :

php cmd.php xf:import

The new installation only has 1 user which is the admin user.

Thread post order?

In the prior XF version I think members had the choice of seeing posts from newest to oldest, or oldest to newest, either in their preferences list, or at the bottom of a thread page (don't remember), but can't find that option in V2.2.6 that we just upgraded to. Does it exist in the new version, or is the default fixed as newest posts on the bottom?

Yesterday, I applied the 2.3 update to my test server. I am running Centminmod with a different VHOST for prod and test servers. I was on my test server, and applied the update via CLI, all progressed normally and quickly, with no errors thrown. Each instance is using a different database in MariaDB.

Today, I am getting these errors:

No user can submit a post without getting permission first

For some reason, my users (and even moderators) can't submit a post without the Administrator approving it first. I have gone into the user groups and changed the settings, as shown below. Perplexity just tells me to use those settings, so no help there. Anyone know what could be happening?

Make staffbar (but not staff links) visible to all users and guests

I want to use the staffbar to add some extra links for anyone (possible including p-nav-opposite) , but obviously I should retain the admin and moderator links in it with only permission for admins and mods.

I have done this by removing the following from PAGE_CONTAINER (shown in red) and corresponding closing tags.

I'm just wondering if somebody could confirm please: Is this the best way? is it secure in regard to the staff only links?
