Quick question about disabling addons which use custom thread types

Our competitions addon is causing errors for a user who has disabled it.

If we use custom thread types how are we best handling them when a user wants to temporarily disable the add-on? (A thread that uses a thread type that no longer exists due to an add-on being disabled will throw an “Invalid thread type” exception from XF\App->threadType())

Just wondering if there’s a preferred way to handle these cases?
