By default, XenForo 2 uses https://whatismyipaddress.com/ to check user IPs when needed. However, it’s slow and cluttered with ads. Recently, I’ve been using CheckIP.me - Check your IP address instead. It not only provides proxy/VPN detection but also delivers cleaner, faster results with no ads.

Blurry buttons on OSX

I am so frustrated with the response about something that should have been caught in beta testing before we got to this version as I use safari and I upgraded because I have been with XF for nearly a decade and I'm sure there is a simple extra.less fix someone more experienced than me could write.

Anywho, long story short I have to ask the community for help because XF are unwilling to give me a quick patch for our buttons.

Does anyone know how to stop the blurry post button text in XF 2.3.4?

Bluesky and Oembed?

I'm trying to add oembed for Bluesky to my BB code media sites in XenForo using the info from oEmbed and Post Embed Widget | Bluesky

Bluesky wants the whole url passing through to it's oembed endpoint.

Is there a way to do this with the XF setup for oembed? I can't figure out how to tell it to apply this to urls like https://bsky.app/profile/*/post/* but then have {$id} set to that whole url?

However, most real-time communication APIs I've encountered have monthly costs exceeding $200. Are there more affordable options (around $30 per month) that can handle 1,000-5,000 users? Or would it be feasible to build a custom solution? Alternatively, is Supabase or Mirrorfly a viable choice for this scale?

/search or /search/search ?

in XF 2.2 it was still the case that ‘Advanced search’ redirected to /search. now /search/search
But this is all rather inconsistent.
search still works
if you click on search at the top you also get to /search
I realise that (search button) triggers the search directly and is therefore /search/search. Nevertheless, there is still an illogicality with the others

Wouldn't it make more sense to use a consistent line here?

vBulletin: Importing [TABLE] with options fails

When importing BB code like

from vBulletin 4 the options are not stripped from [TABLE].

As [TABLE] in XenForo has no options this causes the whole table not being rendered.
