I have a little experience with PHP Basic and HTML, CSS, but nothing much knowledge

My point is to goal to create an add-on, I need to know whether this, are requirement or not, so I do not know what will help me learn fast

\XF\Mvc\Entity\Entity::saveIfChanged does not reset _writePending

Problem: If you call $entity->preSave(), \XF\Mvc\Entity\Entity::$_writePending is set to true. If you subsequently call $entity->saveIfChanged(), and no changes are detected, you cannot write to the entity later, unless you manually call $entity->reset().

Support processes for xf-rebuild:attachment-optimization?

I've been optimizing some attachments and this process sure is slow. If you have any decent amount of attachments the process takes forever. I had 23GB of attachments and it took 14 hours. The attachments are now 14GB so the savings are decent.... is there any way to add the ability to run more threads on this with the --processes option?

Display options to make the membership number more visible on a mobile device?

Hi,

Our forum is the basis of a real life Club, and we need users to provide their forum user / member number when they book events etc, but people really struggle to find their membership number even when it is explained to them

On a PC, it is quite simple (hover over the username, and it is displayed in the bottom left corner)

Is there any way of making it easier to find on a mobile device - e.g. in your profile details, as the only way we have been able to find it is very complicated...

SEO: Option to force users to provide alt description for images

It's great we can now add alt descriptions (along with align, easy link etc.) but most users are unaware of these when they post.

It would be great if as soon as the image is inserted, these options open so users do know know what they can do. (Ideally with explanatory text showing what the icons mean rather than just tooltip)

But most importantly, it would be good if there was an admin option that we could choose that actually forces an alt description. Obviously not every...

Pardon our Interruption - eBay

Is anyone else getting this message when trying to post eBay links to their forums?

A user reported it yesterday on our forums, I tried to post a link today and got the same. The link itself seems to work but the 'title' of the link becomes 'Pardon our Interruption' instead of a description of the item

It has been reported on eBay's help forum but specifically related to Facebook

There are work arounds, such as copy pasting a dice roll, or I guess google sheets, but dice rolling in post is much more...

How to set the default value to custom fields (checkbox to be checked)

Hello, I have created a checkbox in the account details, with which I turn on one additional widget on the main page. This works for me. I originally wanted the checkbox to be checked, but I couldn't figure this out. Can someone advise me how to do it (if possible). I don't want to do it manually by writing to the database. I would prefer if it could be set somehow in the admin panel or in the template. This would solve both old and new users.

Zero notifications from a node

On one of my sites the Mod's private forum has stopped sending out any type of notifications. No Alerts, emails, push notifications ...
  • The node's 'Forum watch notification limit' is set to 'New messages'.
  • Analyzing the Mod's permissions on the node shows correct permissions.
  • We do visit the node often enough to keep them live.
  • Mods get notifications on other nodes/msgs.

What am I not checking?

Also it might be a good idea to whitelist their search engine user agent and IP ranges so Cloudflare's aggressive bot blocking/AI scraper and crawler features don't accidentally block it.
