Date format for custom thread fields

I am getting YYYY-MM-DD when calling a custom thread field.

I thought there'd be something like {$variable|number} for formatting dates with |date and took inspiration from member profiles seeing the date() function, but nothing worked.

Is there a way to format it to MMM DD, YYYY? Or any other formats?

Export entire thread but only selected user posts

Have a member who wants to export a 1000+ post thread to PDF for legal reasons.
I know XF2 Addons has an option to export a thread and it works great.

But I only want his posts to be exported. I don't want anyone else on the thread to be exported.

Remember last position in a thread

It would be nice if Xenforo could remember the last post (or previous to last nth if that post was removed) in a thread that was viewed/read.

It's quite annoying to click on a thread that I've read up to halfway on Page 3, now on Page 4, only to be taken to Page 1 when I click on it in What's new, etc.

The expected behavior would be clicking on a thread, going to Page 3, and dropping down to post #68 on that thread (in the example of halfway on Page 3).

Hard deleting a thread with unapproved posts does not update approval queue.

Steps to reproduce:

Create new thread.
Reply to thread.
Unapprove post.

At this point you will see there is one unapproved post in the Approval queue.

Hard delete thread.

At this point you would expect the Approval queue to be empty, yet is still contains one unapproved item.

CPU overload

Hello my friends
My site suffers from an overload on the processing unit sometimes and I do not know the reason for it. I moved the server from VPS to a dedicated 8-core server and the problem still exists. When visits rise to 6000 visits, the site becomes very heavy and the system does not return to stability a little except when I activate the I am under attack mode on Cloudflare and I blocked the bots and the problem still exists and I do not know the reason

Best way to deal with Fatal error: Cannot declare class

Occasionally I will make a mistake adding a class extension and end up with the dreaded Fatal error: Cannot declare class

Usually, I can find the mistake in the class file and correct it. But not today.

So, I thought a clever way to deal with this would be to remove the entry from the xf_class_extension table. That did not work, and I'd like to understand why so I can find a better way to deal with this issue in the future.

not working on PHP 8.3

I'm running the latest Xenforo 2.3 and PHP 8.2.21

now when i switch over to PHP 8.3 i only get a white screen, even if i disabel all the addon's or set the default template it keeps white.
I even can't acces the admin panel.

where do i have to look, my provider send me to xenforo because of trouble with the software.

need some help on how to find the problem.

Change Article to DiscussionForumPosting

I want to use the Articles thread type because it has:
  • Expanded/Preview mode
  • first post is present in every pages
However, I want to use the DiscussionForumPosting structured data due to the nature of content.

What template(s) should be modified so that I can change the Article structured data of the Articles thread type to DiscussionForumPosting? I've look at the thread_view template but all I can see there is:

How to NOT display child forum node on homepage forum list, but DO display child forum node on parent forum?

Hi there,
The screenshots will help understand what I'm trying to do, which is this:

I do not want the child forums displayed on the homepage forum list (those circled in red on the first screenshot), but when a user clicks the parent forum, for example East Asia, I DO want the forums displayed (such as in the second screenshot.)

How can I make this happen?
